Description
French carved giltwood Louis XVI style 20th century decorative carved firescreen with needlepoint tapestry and displays of florals and foliage in a mellow gold fabric with warm natural accent colors. A twisted rope carving runs the stretcher between the scrolled legs, each with acanthus carvings along the upper and terminating in scrolled toes. Aubusson tapestry.

Condition: Fabric behind tapestry worn, discolored and a bit torn along the top edge. Wear and some threading to the tapestry. Areas of inpainting to gilding. Cracks and joint separations in the legs as expected; loss to scroll of one toe. Other surface wear and minor chipping/losses.
