French Orientalist Bronze Sculpture of Young Woman Carrying Fruit after Marcel Debut (French, 1865-1933), polychromed and patinated bronze, signed “Debut”; with editeur cachet “Bronze Garanti au Titre Paris”; applied plaque “PRIX DE ROME”; cold-stamped foundry mark with weight and lettering A finely cast French Orientalist bronze depicting a young girl balancing two baskets of fruit. Finished in a rich reddish patina with polychrome accents to the skin, garments, and fruit, this model reflects the late 19th-century European fascination with North African subjects, particularly those inspired by travel in French Tunisia. 14 1/4 H x 5 3/4 D x 4 3/8 W
