Art Deco Silvered Bronze Sculpture of a Walking Pheasant after Petrilly, French ca. 1930s, cast by Urbain et Cie Paris Editeurs. A wonderful silvered bronze model of a Pheasant by the French Art Deco sculptor H. Petrilly, it features an angular stylized representation of the gentle bird. It stands alert with eyes peeled, proud under its bold plume while it walks along over the stacked Nero Portero marble base with stylized foliage cast integrally beside its legs. The model is signed in the smoothed foliage H. Pétrilly and the base is incised in tiny script by the editeurs Urbain & Cie. 15 H x 7 38 D x 10 W (base) x 19 3/4 W (widest points)

Condition: Rubbing through the silvering to reveal the golden hue of the underlying bronze beneath on both the sculpture and on the silvered plate beneath the marble. Traces of tarnish and oxidization within the recesses throughout. Spotting and discoloration to the marble. A fine presentation.
