Description
Louis XV Style Carved Giltwood and Marble-Top Console Table, France, 20th century.Shaped veined marble top over a pierced giltwood apron with foliate C-scrolls, rocaille, and latticework carving. Cabriole legs with floral and acanthus motifs, terminating in scrolled toes. Mortise-and-tenon construction with pegged joints. 33 5/8 H x 27 1/4 D x 58 W
Condition: Losses to gilding throughout, notably to back right foot (gesso exposed); scattered edge wear and minor chipping to legs; marble top excellent with minor surface scuffs; hairline joint separations and some visible pegs from natural wood movement; structurally sound and stable; crayon marks noted in images have been mostly removed.
