Description
A finely preserved and unframed mezzotint engraving on paper by Josiah Boydell of Joseph Farington’s drawing of Michelangelo di Campidoglio’s painting A Fruit Piece executed circa 1779. The same print is held in the permanent collections of the Agnes Etherington Art Centre of Queen’s College in Canada, the Christ Church Art Gallery in New Zealand and the Fralin Museum of Art in Virginia. The condition is notable.
