Description
A good English Georgian Brass Candlestick Chamberstick with Slide Ejector, late 18th to early 19th century.A fine lathe turned baluster with incised ring decorations around the stem, a single knob slide ejector in the center allows the candlestick to be raised and remnants of the wax removed after use. A large dish captures falling wax with a large circular finger-ring affixed with rivets to the edge; the baluster joins through the dish with a broad wrought-iron hand-forged washer through which the screwed post is attached using a brass nut, both the nut and end of the screw having been peened down and flattened for a permanent joint. 4 3/4 H x 6 5/8 D x 5 3/8 W

Condition: Good original condition. Wear to brass throughout as expected with a very nice overall patina to the surface. Remnants of wax, verdigris and brass polish in crevices throughout. Light dings/dents.

*update 7/22/25 Handle was reattached, rivets are slightly loose. Some bending and stretch cracks around rivets. Three images added.
